Co-Working & My 70th Party

Co-Working is a brilliant concept geared towards giving entrepreneurs an inspiring work environment.

This is a co-working space on Madeira Island! They are everywhere.

Not a lot of people understand the processes of entrepreneurship and the unique obstacles you might encounter. Being yourself with your own creative mind can be fun but also daunting. A good way of avoiding this is to rent a desk in a co-working space. There is a bit of disagreement as to who created co-working spaces and where. I like the one that credits it to Brad Neuberg for starting the current co-working concept in 2005 in San Francisco.

I experienced my first co-working space at Peloton Labs on Congress Street in Portland. An interesting experience for me that perhaps is a story that I might tell in another media in the future.

Today, I want to merely tell you about my 70th birthday party and show you the gang I met at my second co-working space, also in Portland Maine called Cloudport. I expect that some of these friends will be with me for the rest of my life.

My Cloudport Colleagues

On March 14th 2018, I threw a party for myself that involved inviting 26 people to join me for dinner at Vinland restaurant which is owned by David Levi a dear, dear man and a wonderful friend. Getting to know David is also a great story and special adventure in my life.

There were friends there mostly from the greater Portland area. My long-time friend from childhood could not get in because flights were cancelled due to snow.

I think I wanted to tell this story so I could include this photo of myself looking pretty good for a 70 year old and wearing an outfit designed for me by no other than Patricia Pinto, a women’s high end fashion designer from Madeira Island.

Yes we have the same name and yes Patricia Pinto is another very important person that entered my life during this decade.
