Two Eclipses April 2024 – Women Stars & the Cosmos

When the opportunity for women’s athletics is in the spotlight, women bring the same passion, pride and effort that men’s games do.

The NCAA Iowa-South Carolina championship game on ABC/ESPN on April 7 was watched by 18.7 million people. The April 5 semifinal between UConn and Iowa was viewed by 14.2 million people.

If I told you 20 years ago the Women’s Final Four would pack the stands at an arena, you might have looked at me sideways. Then I would have added, sorry, not for a game, for practice. You would have seen cartoon birds flying over my head like I was just hit with a mallet.

A solar eclipse only happens at New Moon. The Moon has to be between the Sun and Earth for a solar eclipse to occur. The only lunar phase when that happens is a New Moon.

It’s all about Totality. Not to cast a shadow on things, but likening a partial eclipse to a total eclipse is like comparing near-death to death. Only totality reveals the true celestial spectacle: the diamond ring, the Sun’s glorious corona, strange colors in our sky, and seeing stars in the daytime.
