Becoming a Modern Elder
Is the epitome of a 21st century boomer. You become one by going to a funky life-long learning school in the desert of Mexico. Or, during a pandemic by virtually hanging out with a gang of eccentric people online – most who are 45+.
You shift your focus from that obscene word of “retirement” to “rock-on.” Your primary aspiration in aging is to use your ‘noggin’ to cultivate and understand your purpose in life by becoming a kinder, and community connected lover of people and crazy ass fun leader.
Instead of a golf course for exercise you may go bowling or play pickleball. Or, just become obsessed with excessive walking on beaches, and hitting at least 10,000 steps daily. You go back to work to socialize with younger men-terns and help people to smile more.
Instead of living in a privileged and closed community, intergenerational engagement is a core value—with opportunities to learn, grow, serve and work together in an interconnected community rooted in loving and sharing.
So, very much a grown-up Boomer.
