In November of 2022, I attended my first in person Modern Elder Academy session in Baja Mexico. Keep in mind that I am now writing this in January 2025, and I have a terrible memory. I am going to send this post to this fabulous group to see if they have any comments to add as of Jan 2025.
It was one of the most memorable deep connecting session I have ever experienced. I am going to use our What’s App thread to hit the key aftermath communications. From this point forward we held many monthly meetings and recorded constant What’s App entries and connections.
On November 24th, Mark Toro wrote – I am truly grateful for the time we spent together, loving and laughing in that little beach town at the end of a dirt road in Baja.
Also in November, Dave Query wrote – P2 in 2024. That’s my write in vote. We need a president that wears fun glasses, flips people off and eats edibles. LOL had to add this one.
In December 2022, Lawrence Hamilton, one of our very special 28 Degrees, sent us all a $30 gift card for each of us to donate to a Kiva loan recipient to support their submitted projects- ENTREPRENEURS who get the loan funds and then pays them back. Kiva is the first online lending platform that supports entrepreneurs globally. ANOTHER STORY IN ITSELF.
- Just ONE EXAMPLE of what this led to. Cristina Riveroli, thanked Lawrence, “thank you so much for the gift of sharing. I invested in a woman from the Philippines to aid with her start up fishing business. “
In September 2023, we held our first reunion at Serenbe, Georgia – just south of Atlanta. The fabulous, Mark Toro, and his equally fabuluos, executive assistant, setup a wonderful gathering for 3 and 1/2 days. 12 of us attended in person.
In October 2024, we held our second reunion in Boulder Colorado. Again we had 12 in attendance – not the same ones as in Atlanta.
Dave Query created an incredible gathering for us including having us to dinner at his house on the first night. Dave planned the following among many other great moments for us to laugh, love and share. Dave -“The life steps process can take many themes. Trauma. Addiction. Relationships. And yes Mark – SEX. PAINFUL topics for many of us. I felt like MONEY might be the most productive – giving us all some real takeaways and things to consider/change/manage.”
Money was indeed our last structured exercise and circle topic. Dave started this with his experience and we then followed his format one at a time.
More posts to follow about this so special group of my friends, again, I believe for life!
